This poster from the Guerrilla Girls is part of the activist/artists’ campaign to raise awareness of patriarchal and anti-feminist practices within the fine art community. The Guerrilla Girls were recently in DC as part of the exhibit “WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution” at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Though I would debate whether art within a social institution can ever be radical, the women represented in the exhibit were immensely creative and critical of the world around them, both fundamental to any revolution.
